Daily Discovery #61: IDER

Stunning harmonies glide above an eastern inspired atmospherical track. This is a beauty by IDER.

King Ruby is the third release of London duo IDER.  It sees them breakaway from the slow, ambient records previously released, to bring their gorgeous harmonies to a more upbeat electro-pop track. The eastern sounding pattern which opens the track introduces the summery light feel. It’s soon relaxed and the track quietens to bring the perfectly matched vocals of Megan and Lily to the forefront. Here, they’re soft and calm. They continue to glide through the track at both the higher end of the scale bringing space, but also incredible warmth when they sing together on lower notes.

The eastern influence on the track is clearly audible. IDER explained to Wonderland Magazine why:

“King Ruby is about a friend of ours who was involved in an accident in India at the end of last year. Her courage and positivity throughout her recovery inspired this song. She is a remarkable human being who has taught us the power in choosing strength.”

Their two earlier releases, both from this year, feature the same style vocals but against slower, ambient tracks.
