Daily Discovery #12: Warhaus

New release by WARHAUS is a hypnotic work of art perfectly mixing eeriness and warmth.

Warhaus is the creation of Maarten Devoldere. He’s the singer from Belgian band Balthazar. His newest track I’m Not Him has us captivated and we love the comparisons to Nick Cave being flown around. The record opens with a repetitive beat and when his low vocals come in, it demands your attention. He has a way of sounding smooth but rugged which adds to the haunted element pulling you in to the track. The light, short, keyboard phrases repeated throughout add to these mystical vibes.

I’m Not Him is the second release of Warhaus after the equally brilliant The Good Lie. Packed with the same eeriness and warmth, his first release begins with the repetitive beat and uses quiet harmonies to draw you in.

Both tracks will be featured on the debut LP titled We Fucked A Flame Into Being. It is set for release September 2nd and available for pre-order now.

On a European tour later this year, he’ll be playing Brighton, Leeds and London in October. You can get tickets now here.
