Daily Discovery #25: Nathan Ball

Beer in hand. Sun shining. This new track by NATHAN BALL would make the perfect afternoon sitting cross legged at a festival. Warm, raw and inviting.

Simple gentle guitar and raw soft vocals ease you into this latest release of Nathan Ball. Right Place is packed with beautiful harmonies. The track picks up pace throughout as new layers, purposeful drum interludes and guitar melodies are added.

It’s gentle folk meets electric guitar. An air of Ben Howard and Roo Panes.

“Right Place was written when we’d just got back from a tour playing shows up in the mountains in France. It was an incredible trip for us, and when I was back home, I picked up the guitar and started exploring this idea of a ‘right place’, a place where people feel most comfortable and happy. Whether that be a physical location or a headspace, it’s a place where people go to find peace and feel free.” – Nathan Ball

Right Place signals his move to a full band set-up. The atmosphere it gives off exudes live band. His 2015 EP Howling was much more of a solo performance.
