Daily Discovery #30: Betsy

There’s only one place this track by BETSY deserves to be played. A straight open road with sun blinding through the windscreen. All four windows are all the way down and the wind is blowing through your luscious locks like you’re in a music video. Through the blaring speakers? This belter.

Betsy has released two minutes and fifty five seconds of pure pop gold with Lost & Found. The making of it has to be the upbeat string melodies and Betsy’s striking vocals. Undeniably, there is a resemblance to Cher, and it’s awesome. The quick electro drum beats keep the pace up. Somehow, it’s the end of the track and you find yourself hitting repeat.

Betsy has the striking image to match the immense character exuding from the track.  And it’s no wonder – before the Welsh singer turned her hand to music, she pursued Fashion Design with Central Saint Martins in London.

Here’s the video released for the track:

Speaking to V Magazine about the video, Betsy said:

“Remember your first love, but maybe not as fondly as you’d like? ‘Lost & Found’ is about that feeling of obsession and aggravation. This bloke would annoyingly tip up and disappear as randomly as he had appeared for years after we’d split. I wanted the video to express my annoyance at not being able to shake him off—hence the aggressive smashing shit up with a crowbar.”

As a little bonus, here’s another track from Betsy, titled Fair. It features the same brilliant vocals but matched this time with a gentler backing track.
